all ceramic with spray paint and acrylic [who needs glaze anyway?] I owe Lb a little shout out on this one.. dude to our intense conversation on college that caused me to produce this.
For those of you that know him, this is AJ Sellers. he's a pretty cute kid. I painted his picture. with acrylic, watercolor and paper. This was featured in the August 2007 issue of CCS girls when they added surfing to their catalauge
these are mixed media paintings from when I was in AP art in high school. I used these in my concentration portfolio [clearly the subject matter was fruits and vegtables]
this project had totally different intentions. I spend about 20 hours carving a baby out of wax and the mold was too weak and it broke in the kiln causing the form to be hollow and incomplete. but the fact that it didn't fill out was actually a lot more interesting. i was really bad with documenting this but i did take some pretty neat pictures when the wax was in peices. the details were extremely hard to capture in photograph. whatever.
I'm sure you're familiar with his work.. it's becoming pretty mainstream. nothing better than pure black and white drawings of tattoos and hot chicks. This is who I chose to do a project my teacher my teacher assigned us. pick a non-glass artist and make something out of glass inspired by them. If you don't know him check him out. The first piece i made was the larger black and white one but then i got on this big kick about making female torsos after that.
